Let's Talk and More ...
A not-for-profit project focused mainly on teaching English-speaking fluency to underserved language learners who are either studying English abroad or need to practice it in the USA as a second language.
Knowing English is very different from speaking it comfortably. From pronunciation to native eloquence, we help students raise their level of speaking confidence in a casual and fun way but on consistent virtual weekly sessions.
About
Us
Who We Are
We are a group of Miami high school students offering virtual English lessons to underprivileged students in Latin America. Through Let's Talk and More, we hope to contribute as teenagers to a simple yet meaningful effort with a measurable impact.
Our project launched in October 2023 with a pilot program at a low-income English institute in Nicaragua, and it proved to be a success. In a couple of months, our students progressed as they became more confident speakers, expanding their vocabulary and pronunciation; they also enjoyed receiving the lessons as much as we did teaching them. We have since added three more schools in two countries, Peru and Chile, and will soon add two more in Colombia and Mexico.

Conversational English Fluency
Our main program provides conversational English fluency sessions to non-native speakers who have either recently arrived in the United States or are not in the US but are learning the language in their respective countries and need to practice with native speakers.
Our sessions are interactive and fun, aiming to emulate casual daily conversations among friends to build confidence and expand the usage of vocabulary.

Programs
Homework Aid and Tutoring
Homework aid and tutoring sessions focus on Elementary School subjects such as Math, Science, Reading, and Grammar.
We match the student to the tutor on a long-term basis for continuity and relationship-building purposes. Tutors follow the school material and needs of each specific student.
Times and sessions vary on the student’s needs

Fundraising
Because our students are underserved by their communities, they don’t always have access to the required funds to continue with their studies or materials to receive our programs.
Our fundraising campaigns are held as needed with specific goals. As a policy, we do not provide the actual funds to our partner's centers but instead acquire the needed items or make the required payment directly.

I was born in Bogota, Colombia but came to live in the United States as a baby with my parents who are: my mother from Chile and my father from Colombia. We have always spoken Spanish at home, which has given me the great gift of being bicultural and bilingual, English/Spanish.
I dedicate much of my free time to playing golf and the drums. I enjoy all types of music and love sharing time with my family and friends.

I was born in Miami and my parents are from Chile, where I lived briefly when I was very young. As such, I’m bilingual, and I speak both languages fluently and interchangeably. I am a High School Student at La Salle, I enjoy playing golf with friends and sharing time with my family, and I especially love big family gatherings. My passion right now is learning and mock investing in global stock markets, I dedicate most of my free time to increasing my knowledge further on the subject.

I was born in Livingstone, New Jersey and both my parents are from Colombia, making it fundamental - while still living in the United States - for me to learn and speak Spanish. At the age of 5, we moved to live in Miami, Florida which has further helped my Spanish speaking abilities by allowing me to live among a multicultural hispanic community. I am a bilingual high school student who is fluent in both English and Spanish, and passionate about running and playing the guitar.

I was born in Stanford, Connecticut, and at the age of four, my family moved to Miami, Florida. My parents are both from Colombia, therefore Spanish is our home language, which makes me bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English. I’m a High School student at MAST Academy and am passionate about volleyball. I have been playing and part of a team since I was eight; we practice regularly and compete weekly. For the past couple of years, I have volunteered as a tutor on Sundays at our Local Police Station to assist Elementary and Middle School students with limited resources in different school subjects.
